Bring Your Own API Key: Use Your Existing Credits Through Vincony's Interface
If you already have API keys from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or other providers, Vincony's BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) feature lets you use them through Vincony's superior interface — at no additional cost beyond your existing API charges.
Why Use BYOK?
API access gives you cheaper per-token pricing than consumer subscriptions, but the raw API interface is developer-only. Vincony bridges this gap by providing a consumer-grade chat interface that runs on your own API keys.
You get all of Vincony's features: Compare Chat, Smart Router, conversation history, and collaboration tools — powered by your own API credits.
How to Set Up BYOK
Navigate to Vincony's settings, select 'API Keys', and paste your keys for each provider. Vincony encrypts and securely stores your keys. When you select a model from a provider where you've added a key, Vincony routes the request through your API — and you're billed directly by the provider.
Cost Comparison
For heavy users, BYOK can be significantly cheaper than Vincony's credit system. API pricing for GPT-5 averages around $0.01-0.03 per message depending on length, compared to 1-2 credits on Vincony. For light to moderate users, Vincony's credit system is often more convenient.
Best of Both Worlds
Many users use BYOK for their primary model (e.g., GPT-5 for daily coding) and Vincony credits for occasional access to other models they don't want to maintain separate API accounts for. This hybrid approach optimizes both cost and convenience.
